Episode 177 With UGK David - No Shows, Jury Duty, and Rap Beef

Despite the long line, the Heroes finally made it to the checkpoint and were able to speak to a guard. They explained what they were planning to do in the city, and the guard allowed them to pass. They crossed through the gate and were greeted by a small courtyard area.
Inside the gate they peered around and saw that there were additional merchants. The courtyard appeared to be a sort of hub to allow for a resting place for those coming to or from the city. A few small signs noted the locations of inns and pubs. An armorer slammed his hammer down onto what appeared to be a thick piece of breastplate. The Heroes had arrived in the city.

Episode 176 With Sociedad Gamer - 5-Year Anniversary, Tears of the Kingdom, AI Taking Over

After a long walk through the rest of the forest, the Heroes arrived at a large gate. Guards lined a wall stretching as far as they could see. The air here was far different than in the forest. It was much livelier, though everyone was noticeably more tense. Armed guards patrolled the area, and the gate itself served as a heavily guarded checkpoint. The soldiers stationed here were the first line of defense for the city, and so they were tasked with taking their roles incredibly seriously.
The Heroes realized it would take some time to get through the checkpoint, so they wasted no time in getting in line. Ahead of them were various traders, citizens of the city, and foreign dignitaries looking to win over some favors with the higher-ups in the city. Vendors lined the base of the wall, hoping to make a small fortune by selling overpriced trinkets and food to the unfortunate souls stuck in the line to get into the city.

Episode 175 With Burt N Burger - Non-Censorship, Comedy, and Crazy Guests

After having their fill, the Heroes decided to rest for the night. They slept as travelers passed by on the nearby road, the horses trotting providing a steady rhythm to help lull them into a sense of ease. As the night went on, the noise quieted down until only the sound of crickets and nocturnal birds occasionally broke the silence.
Come morning, the Heroes gathered their belongings and continued along the road. They passed a number of campsites that housed individuals ranging from hungover due to the previous night's endeavors, to still drunk from drinking well into the night. As they grew closer to the city, the campsites became cleaner and more organized. Here, the travelers knew the guards would be more unforgiving for rough behavior.

Episode 174 With TheAmazingPatPat - Twitch vs YouTube, Balancing Life and Content Creation, and Games!

While relaxing in their camp for the night the Heroes enjoyed the warmth of the fire, as well as the ever-changing company. Various travelers would stop by their camp throughout the night, and all would happily tell their stories. These ranged from traveling merchants telling of their journeys to make a few coins, to soldiers telling tall tales of their heroism.
One Soldier in particular told a very tall tale. He spoke of witnessing a small group of adventurers who had taken an entire fort by themselves. Apparently they had strange looking equipment, as well as a small blind girl traveling with them. The adventurers doubted this, but given their own adventure they wouldn't completely disregard it.

Episode 173 With Jayden of Therapy Connections - Who Needs Therapy, How to Get It, and Why?

Continuing along the small road, the Heroes eventually arrive at the edge of a large forest. Small encampments were arranged around the perimeter in a scattered fashion. Armed soldiers manned the camps, and patrolled the edge of the forest. The Heroes knew that they also guarded stretches of the road leading to the city, and they would have nothing to worry about in the forest.
The entered through the tree line and were immediately surprised at how much cooler it was under the protection of the heavily wooded forest. It was also much darker. Rays of sunshine pierced through canopy above, providing sources of light. Even so, it created a sense that it was never fully daytime here.
They continued along the road, making way to allow caravans and soldiers to pass. They would get an off glance from time to time - particularly the Jester - but the walk was much more pleasant than their previous experiences. Eventually it began to get darker and they realized night was setting in. They maneuvered a short bit off of the path to set up camp.

Episode 172 With Chuck Sway of Sway Parade Podcast - Podcasting, Social Media Burnout, and Car Sales

The Heroes set out towards the distant forest, barely an inkling of doubt about their actions regarding not getting caught in the rain. The sun was up, and the day was getting warmer. The ground beneath them was firm yet forgiving, and they welcomed an easier trek. The land was flat from here to the forest, and they could see for miles.
After a while they discovered a small road and were happy to follow it forward. As they walked some wildlife scurried around; deer ran across the fields, and large birds soared in the sky above. Even so, things were quiet. Occasionally they would pass a traveling merchant caravan, eager to take their wares from the city to a distant destination.

Climbing up the nearest tree, the Swordsman Hero did his best to get a lay of the land. There was a large forest nearby, and an even bigger one a bit farther away. He knew of the city that lay on the other side of the distant forest, though it would be a long walk to get there.
He made his way back down the tree, and informed his companions of what he had seen. They decided they would make their way to the city, and began to clean up their camp. After gathering their things they set out, excited to return to civilization that wouldn't include vampires.

Episode 170 With Kloss - Wings of Redemption Vs Boogie, Kid Rock Shoots Beer, and Harriet Potter

After some time, the rain subsided and the heroes were able to find some warmth by the fire. The night was cold and damp, and they would be excited to start back on the road tomorrow. For the time being, they huddled together near the fire while The Jester played a song.
As the sun rose in the morning The Heroes check to see if their clothes were dry. As they were a bit damp, they set them onto the rocks surrounding the campfire. The Swordsman Hero decided to check out the surrounding area, as they weren't sure where they had ended up after being washed downriver.
