Episode 114 - Elden Ring, Dominating in Sports, and Updates From Ukraine

The heroes watched as the villagers began to disperse; the body of the former lord laying as a crumpled mess in the center of the mass of people. He had been beaten to a bloody pulp, with blood pooling up all over. Bloody footprints trailed away in all directions, with the villagers having taken out all of their aggressions onto the villainous old man.
The heroes approached the body, unsure of what would remain. His face had been crushed in, rendering him unrecognizable. His arms and legs were flattened, reduced to mangled messes of bones and meat. He had been beaten with clubs, and stabbed with all manner of tools. Pieces of flesh and clothing were thrown around together, and could hardly be told apart.
This was the justice handed down by the villagers, as violent and grotesque as it was. Onlookers could call it an act of madness, though what could be more sane than wanting revenge for the cruelty and torture endure by their families? The heroes were in no place to decide this, and so they left the body where it lay. Someone would come along and clean it up later.
They made their way to the village in; they would check on the injured woman the next day. As they entered, they saw the guards sitting at a table in the corner, quietly relaxing amongst themselves. The heroes went up to their previous rooms, and sat down to rest. They talked about what had occurred, as well as Elden Ring, athletes dominating in sports, and the latest from Ukraine (as of March 13th, 2022).

Episode 113 - War in Ukraine, Elden Ring, and Delayed COD

The heroes arrive back at the village with the few guards and lord in tow. His feet were bloodied and torn to shreds, leaving him barely able to stand. The guards dragged him off to the village center. He would receive judgement immediately.
The villagers watched as the hated lord was brought before them. They had never seen him look so weak and frail before, only having heard stories of the powerful lord that lives in the nearby keep. Seeing him in his current state, the locals realized they had been tricked and abused by a pathetic old man still clinging to power.
Upon reaching the village center, the guards pushed him to his knees. He let out a quiet cry, and fell down. The villagers formed a circle around him, silently watching the events unfold. The guard captain stepped forward and announced that the former lord would be punished for his crimes, though no trial would be necessary. He peered out around at the crowd, waiting for an outburst. Upon receiving none, he continued to explain that the villagers would decide what to do with the shriveling old man. He looked around again, and then ushered for his compatriots to follow him to the village inn.
The former lord lifted his head slowly, looking up at the angry villagers surrounding him. They appeared confused, like animals unsure of what to do with their captured prey. They had often talked about what they would do to the lord if they could, but never expected the opportunity to fall into their laps. The lord slowly attempted to rise to his feet.
Before he could finish standing, a half-eaten loaf of bread struck him in the back of the head, knocking him back down to his knees. The bread thrown from the crowd was the catalyst they needed to unleash their fury. As a swarm, they flooded over the lord and attacked him mercilessly. Their bodies colliding as they fought amongst themselves to each get their own piece of the revenge.
The heroes stood off to the side as the village's justice was dealt out. They talked amongst themselves as they watched. They discussed the current horrific war in Ukraine, the amazing game Elden Ring, and how COD was delayed for next year.

Episode 112 With Guest Stochkov - Game Development Cycles, Sports Games, and Dying Light 2

After resting, the heroes packed their things up, as well as their newly found treasures. The warrior hero called over one of the guards, who assisted him in loading up his pack. After checking everything was in order, they set out to return to the village to check on the injured woman.
The guards thanked them as they left, presumably grateful to be free of their lords control. Two guards went with them, dragging the decrepit old lord behind them. He stumbled along, practically being dragged. His jewelry had been stripped from him, and he was given some old sandals that had been worn to nothing. His feet would be bloodied and torn apart by the time they reached the village.
The heroes took no joy in this, but also felt no compassion for the man. They simply reveled in their new prizes, and continued on. They walked along, and talked as they did. One of the guards walked up quickly behind them to join in. They discussed the misery of video game development cycles, their favorite sports games, and Dying Light 2.

Episode 111 - Creepy Neckbeards, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and the Super Bowl

With the guards taken care of, the heroes returned their attention to the incredibly displeased lord sitting in front of them. His thin, aged fingers clenched into what could barely be described as a fist. His few teeth formed what the heroes assumed was a snarl. They sat down at the table to begin negotiations.
First, they assumed control of the lord's hold. They planned on giving it to the people of the nearby village, but didn't bother telling him that. Second, they claimed all of the holds treasures, although it wouldn't amount to much. Finally, they demanded information about how they could get a reward for slaying the beholder. The lord gave them a signed notice proclaiming their success, and told them of a nearby baron that would pay them.
They then instructed the guards to take him to the village to receive punishment. The lord never even said a word, accepting his punishment. He knew arguing would get him nowhere, and so he put his faith that he would be able to worm his way out of the grasp of the guards.
Once things were settled, the heroes found a clean area of the keep to settle in for the night. They sat down and talked about their experience. They also discussed creepy neckbeards, the new Pokémon Legends: Arceus game, and the Super Bowl.

Episode 110 With Guest Clark From The Hello Tangent Podcast - Halo Infinite, Dying Light 2, and Military Tactics in Gaming

As they set the last prisoner free, the heroes turned and saw the Jester had returned with the blinded guard. He had cauterized the wounds, and put a bandage over his eyes. While mortified by this turn of events, the heroes had no time to dwell on it. They made their way up out of the dungeon, and were able to find a chest with not only their equipment but the items left behind by other prisoners. They picked everything up and continued into the great hall.
Still sitting at his place at the table, the lord grimaced at the heroes' arrival. About a dozen guards surrounded him, swords drawn and ready for combat. The Jester made a gesture with his hand, a dark green glow barely emanating from his fingertips. The stone floor shuddered, cracked, and gave way as a wall of mangled limbs rose out. Arms and legs swung wildly about as cries rang out from the monstrous wall that had emerged. The guards were taken aback by this, and stumbled backward. This only made matters worse, as they fell right into the grasps of the twisted wall behind them. They were pulled into what seemed like no space at all, and disappeared as they screamed in terror.
The remaining few guards quickly dropped their weapons and surrendered. A few of the prisoners made their way to them and restrained them. One prisoner approached the heroes. He thanked them for freeing him, and asked them a few questions about who they were. They explained their story to him, and talked about Dying Light 2, Halo Infinite, and how military tactics transition into gaming.

Episode 109 - Dying Light 2, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Anime Spoilers

As the heroes continue talking to the woman in the adjacent cell, the guard returned and slammed a club against the cell bars to remind the prisoners to be quiet. The Jester didn't take kindly to this, and spit at the gruff looking jailer. He recoiled as it dripped down his face, and he called for backup. Three additional guards came down the stairs, each looking angrier than the last. They stood outside of the heroes cell as the jailer explained what had happened. He pulled out his massive ring of keys and prepared to open the cell. He would teach that grinning Jester a lesson.
As he found the correct key and prepared to open the cell, the prisoner from across the hall grabbed one of the other guards in a chokehold. He pulled the guard up against his cell, and dug his fingers into his eyes. The other two guards and the jailer turned around in surprise, which created an opening for the heroes.
As the jailer was looking the other way, the warrior hero charged through the cell door. It sent the jailer flying across the hall, knocking down another guard in the process. The remaining guard was in the process of prying the prisoner off of the blinded guard, but was quickly dispatched of by a quick kick to the neck from the swordsman hero. His neck snapped, killing him instantly. The Jester was distracted by the blinded guard. He made faces at him, apparently amused that he couldn't see him. The warrior hero smashed in the face of the guard the jailer had knocked down, and then proceeded to restrain the jailer.
As they prepared to ask the jailer where their belonging were, the heroes had to stop and convince the Jester to either kill the blinded guard or let him be. The Jester ignored them, and wandered off the hallway with the blinded guard in tow. The jailer was terrified, and quickly instructed the heroes that their belongings were at the top of the stairs in a chest. They thanked him by locking him in their cell, and then proceeded to set free the other prisoners. As they did, they talked about Dying Light 2, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and spoiled some of their favorite anime.

Episode 108 With Guest Luuney_Lulu - Cartoon Conspiracies, Ruined TV Shows & Movies, and Book Club Recommendations

Still trapped in their cell, the heroes sit in silence as their cell block friend is shushed by the guard. He shrinks away, but then another voice is heard. A small voice comes through the wall of the heroes' cell. In the next cell, a young woman speaks to them. They hear her out, and talk about the creepiest cartoon conspiracies, TV shows and movies that were ruined, and their favorite current books.

Episode 107 With Guest The Pop Historian - Life in the Military, NFT’s, and Did The US Lose The Space Race?

While talking to the grumpy old lord, the heroes notice knights filing in one at a time. Every minute or so, another would enter and take a seat at a table nearby. Over the duration of their conversation, about two dozen knights had entered the great hall, yet none made a sound. The Jester looked around at them with squinted eyes, unsure of what was happening.
After finishing their tale, the lord chuckled quietly to himself. His eyes still barely open, he spoke in his raspy voice. Suddenly, the knights surrounding the heroes stood up and drew their weapons. The heroes glanced around quickly, but knew they were in no position to fight back. They sat solemnly in their seats, and waited to see what happened.
A gruff looking knight walked up behind the lord, leaned in, and whispered something into his ear. The lord nodded, and the knight straightened back up. He looked at the heroes, smirked, and then looked around the room at his knights. He motioned at the heroes, and the knights moved in. They quickly grabbed the heroes, and restrained them. Their weapons and equipment were taken, and they were dragged off into a dark hallway.
Eventually, they were thrown into a dark cell. It reeked of old bodily fluids, and the walls were sticky to the touch. Dried blood smeared a corner of the cell, and looked as if it had been there for some time. A small leak dripped down into the center, with the water running off to one side of the uneven surface. There were no beds, and no amenities whatsoever.
Across the hall from the heroes, a figure stirred. It was a younger man, and he pressed up against the bars of his cell. He seemed happy to finally have some company. The heroes sat down to await their fate, and decided to talk. They discussed the man's past, his life in the military, NFT's, and whether or not the US lost the space race.
