Episode 141 With Guest Kloss - Modern Warfare II, House of the Dragon VS Rings of Power, and Gaining 500 lbs

The woman sprinted back to her party, slamming the door behind her as she arrived back at the main floor. The Swordsman Hero and the Jester turned quickly to look at her, wondering what had caused her to react in such a way. Their weapons were already prepared, and they were ready to fight.
She explained to them that she had caught a glimpse of something monstrous in a crypt below the church. She couldn't be sure what it was, but they needed to come with her to investigate. They gathered their things and followed her back down.
Arriving at the dark foot of the steps they peered through the metal bars of the door, barely able to make anything out. The Jester whispered something, and suddenly a flame burst forth from his hand. It flew through the barred window of the door, and landed in the middle of the room. As it did, a shriek rang out.
Recoiling from the flame was a gray, monstrous form. It looked to be an emaciated man, though his clothes were tattered and barely hanging onto his frail body. What struck the nerve of the heroes was that his body had contorted into a nearly unrecognizable shape. His feet looked like that of a beast, with sharp claws scraping the ground. His long, thin arms were tipped with razor sharp fingernails that looked like long knives at the end of his sickeningly thin fingers. The man's ears were long and pointed, making for a harrowing shape.
What had made the woman recoil and run was the monster's face. It hardly resembled that of a human. The nose was more of a snout, with a nose leaf connecting the skin and surrounding tissue. Its mouth was twisted and fangs lined the crooked grimace within. The eyes were sunken in, and were a shade of the darkest red imaginable. The monster was terrifying, and the heroes knew all too well what it was. A vampire.

Episode 140 With Guest Ashley From The Ham Radio Podcast - House of The Dragon, Rings of Power, and Stranger Things

The Swordsman Hero walked over to the Jester, curious as to whether or not anything had been found. He noticed the Jester had a needle, and was attempting to draw blood from the bodies. However, upon extraction no blood came out. The Jester went to a different body and attempted again, though the result was the same. The Swordsman hero began to think he knew what had happened.
The woman peered through the door, finding that a stairway led down to a floor below. She grabbed a torch off the wall, and crept down the stairs. The stairway became darker and darker the further down she went, and the air felt heavier.
Eventually she arrived at the bottom, and the darkness felt all-encompassing. Her torch seemed to struggle to provide any light, and she could barely make out the door in front of her. It was a heavy wooden door with a metal bar blocking it off, as though preventing something from escaping within. Thick metal bars lined the window of the door, and she attempted to peek in. She grabbed a piece of cloth from her pack and lit it using the torch. Throwing it through the window, it landed a few feet away without lighting much of the area. It wasn't much, but she could barely make out a shape in the darkness. Immediately, she turned and fled back to her party.

Episode 139 With Guest Chris From Beyond Binary Thinking - The Boys, American Kleptocracy, and The Queen

After checking the bodies, the heroes were still left confused as to what had happened. The bodies showed no clear external signs of injury, and there were no indicators suggesting what could have killed them. The heroes split up and searched around the church to see if they could find any additional clues.
The Swordsman Hero checked the bodies for items of interest, but found that none of them carried anything at all. This confused him, but he continued searching. The Jester wanted to draw some blood from a few of the bodies, hoping to test if they had been poisoned. The woman checked around the interior doors, seeing if she could find any signs of aggressive entry. Finding nothing of the sort, she opened up a peculiar looking door and went inside.

Episode 138 With Guest Stochkov - House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, and PC Problems

Before heading back to the church the heroes the heroes came up with a plan. They would scope out the church and surrounding area in an effort to see if anything nefarious would come to light. If nothing came up they would meet together in front of the church at sunrise.
The split apart and formed a triangular area of observation around the church. Priests came and went, along with a large number of commonfolk. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, though the number of people arriving and leaving seemed a bit high considering night had fallen some time ago. None of the heroes were concerned by this, as people often visited priests at night for confessions when friends and family wouldn't notice them entering and leaving.
Finally, the sun rose and the heroes converged at the front door to the church. The number of people coming around had dwindled until the area fell silent. They agreed nothing much seemed out of the ordinary, and went in. Upon passing through the entrance, they were hit with a foul smell. The scent of death hung heavy over the entirety of the building.
Looking around, they suddenly realized that bodies lay strewn about. Some lay on the floor, others were draped over pews like towels thrown about. The heroes were flabbergasted, as they had seen all of the comings and goings. It was impossible for nobody to have noticed, let alone there to be no signs of a killer fleeing the scene. Things had taken a turn they didn't expect.

Episode 137 - Streaming With Others, Trump Wants Another Election, and House of the Dragon

Reaching the town center, the woman looked around for her traveling companions and saw the Jester nearby playing some sort of a game with the town children. From the other direction, the swordsman hero solemnly made his way over to her. The look on his face told the woman that he didn't have much useful information to share, and she was aware that the Jester never spoke so that wouldn't be useful.
Once the three met up in the town center, the woman explained what she had learned. The swordsman hero added that based on what the shopkeep had told him the heroes were likely very powerful. They decided that doing as the church asked may be helpful in getting additional info, and so they would assist at least for now.

Episode 136 - DJP Network, Dealing With Family Medical Emergencies, and Streaming With Friends

Continuing her conversation with the bishop, the woman learned that he did indeed have information on who they were seeking. He had heard rumors of a powerful looking group of adventurers that had made their way into town. Realizing that they may be of use to the church, he and a few other bishops had sought them out in town. While he himself had not been able to locate them, a few of the other bishops had run into a number of the group and spoken to them. They declined to assist the church, and left town shortly after.
The bishop made it clear the church was upset with them, and asked the woman if her party would be able to help in place of the adventurers. He explained that there was a bit of dark dealing going on surrounding the management of the town. Some of the higher ups had been receiving kickbacks in exchange for letting some of the wealthier townsfolk do as they please. Because of this, lawlessness had begun to creep in to parts of the town. Women were being abducted in the dark of night, beggars were being beaten to a pulp while sitting in alleyways, and businesses were being extorted in exchange for protection from rival thugs.
The woman made it clear that she could not make the decision to intervene on her own, but that she would ask her traveling companions their thoughts. She thanked the bishop for the information and headed back to the town center. Whether or not her companions were waiting for her was another story.

After a lengthy discussion with the armorers' shopkeep, the swordsman hero was finally able to gather a small tidbit of information. She told him that some incredibly tough looking folks had passed through town not many days before. They didn't stop at her shop, but their equipment looked as though it was perfectly maintained. Normally, she would assume that meant they hadn't used it. The looks in their eyes, and the aura about them said otherwise. She didn't know where they had gone off to, and so she ended up being of little help. Begrudgingly, the swordsman hero gave up and left.
Over at the chapel the woman had made her way inside, unsure of what to expect. It was eerily quiet; the bishops making no sound as they shuffled about. She located one that was sitting alone in a pew - deep in prayer - and sat down next to him. He finished his prayer quickly, opened his eyes, and looked at her. He politely asked what it was that she needed. She explained the situation, and his eyes gleamed as she mentioned the adventurers. He told her that he knew exactly who it was she was looking for.

Episode 134 - Trump Raided by FBI, Prey Review, and New Games

After leaving the bar, the woman made her way towards the chapel. The closer she got, the smaller the crowd became. After a while the crowd had almost completely disappeared, leaving only a few seedy characters hiding in alleyways around her. It seemed as though the church preferred the public image of taking care of the most vulnerable people in the town. She stopped as she stood at the steps of the building, a certain unease creeping into her consciousness.
Meanwhile, the swordsman hero had wandered into an armorers shop. He figured that any adventurers passing through would be likely to stop to have their equipment fixed and cleaned here. He asked the shopkeep if she had seen anyone interesting lately, though her response wasn't exactly helpful. Explaining that everyone who came into her shop was interesting, she launched into a lengthy monologue about how anyone willing to fight was interesting. The swordsman hero realized this would take some time.
